Microsoft® FrontPage®
2000
Microsoft® FrontPage® 2000 makes it easy to produce professional
quality web sites. With powerful tools such as built in image mapping, spell
checking, WebBot components, and a familiar interface (like other
Microsoft® Office applications), you can get great results fast. |
NOTE: If
you have the FrontPage® 98 Server
Extensions already installed, you must remove them before
installing the FrontPage® 2000 Server Extensions. Use the
fp98uninstall command: % fp98uninstall |
% fp2kinstall
You will be prompted to answer a few questions before the server extensions will be installed.
| NOTE: If
you have Virtual
Subhosts configured on your Virtual Server, you will need to move them
to the ~/www/vhosts directory before you can successfully install and
use the FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions. You may use the vhostmv command to help you move your virtual subhosts: This command will move your virtual subhost home directories, and attempt to rewrite the% vhostmv VirtualHost and access configurations in the web
server configuration files. Use caution!!! Backup your files before using
the vhostmv command!!! It has been tested with as many different
virtual subhosting configurations as we can think of, but perhaps not your
particular configuration! If you choose to manuallymove your virtual subhosts to the ~/www/vhosts directory, you will need to create access controls for the ~/www/vhosts directory in you web server configuration file (~/www/conf/httpd.conf or ~/www/conf/access.conf). |
Removing Microsoft® FrontPage® 2000 Server
Extensions
To remove the FrontPage® 2000 Server Extensions from your Virtual Server,
use the fp2kuninstall command.
% fp2kuninstall
Installing FrontPage® 2000 Server Extensions for your subhosted domain names is easy. Use the same fp2kinstall command that you used to install the Microsoft® FrontPage® 2000 Server Extensions on your Virtual Server. After installing the server extensions on the Virtual Server (or checking to see that the server extensions are already installed), the install program will then prompt you for the virtual subhost domains which you want the server extensions also installed.
If you installed the FrontPage® 2000 HTML Administration Forms when you installed FrontPage® 2000, you can use the online forms to create subwebs for your subhosted domain names. Simply access the following URL:
