ALTS.NET® Solaris vs FreeBSD Virtual Servers

Solaris Versus FreeBSD
The FreeBSD Virtual Servers offer a powerful, cost-effective solution to meet the majority of hosting needs. Now the Solaris Virtual Servers give you the opportunity to service higher-end clients with specific application requirements. The Solaris operating system supports more enterprise applications than any other UNIX platform! Additionally, Solaris on SPARC hardware offers maximum reliability and power for a Solaris Solution.

Since both the FreeBSD Virtual Servers and the Solaris Virtual Servers are built on UNIX and use the same Virtual Server Technology, the two products look amazingly similar. However, there are a few minor differences which mostly relate to the differences between Solaris and FreeBSD. As a general rule, the Solaris Virtual Server looks like a standard Solaris server; in the event that 'standard Solaris' departed significantly from FreeBSD, we tried to implement symbolic links that will allow you to navigate and administrate your Solaris Virtual Server like a FreeBSD Virtual Server.
